New year, new venue – new films!

The iPhone Popup Film festival returns with a bang in 2013  – and a funky new venue, The Lamb Beer & Liquor in North London, on Tuesday January 15 @ 7.30pm.

We’ll be curating another bunch of exclusive short films from all over the world, which have been shot on an iPhone (and other smartphones) and there will also be an opportunity for filmmakers to show their own films on a big screen in a special ‘open iPhone’ slot.

Here’s how the iPhone Popup Film Festival works. Bring your film on your iPhone or iPod Touch, plug it into our Pop Video pico projector and it’s showtime. It’s as simple as that.

We are strictly lo-fi, although our awesome little Pop Video projector will screen your films in qHD (960 x 540 pixel resolution) quality on a ‘big screen’ 50-inches wide. For audio we will plug into the venue’s house PA system.

Admission is free and there is no charge to show your films, although you must sign up via our meetup page if you want to show a film on the night, to guarantee a slot as spaces are limited, otherwise simply turn up and enjoy the show!

We’ll also feature live acoustic music from Emma Darlow and Carl Prekopp from the fabulous Fircones and an art exhibition, to make the evening a mini multi-media event. This is the ‘festival in your pocket’, strictly no red carpet and everyone is welcome.

Our launch last year created a huge amount of interest in mobile filmmaking and was a spectacular success, so come see for yourself – and why not bring a film!

Our guest speaker will be filmmaker Peter Ferris, who will give an introductory talk on mobile filmmaking before the screening of one of his own shorts.

Nearest tube: Highbury and Islington
